My Story
Meet Dutch, the Beagle who’s more of a globe-trotter than a couch potato. Born in July 2020, this 37-pound bundle of joy has a nose that could give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money. He was found by our Dog Warden, not lost, but on a solo adventure, exploring the world like the Indiana Jones of dogs.
Dutch is such a good boy that if you look up ‘good boy’ in the dictionary, you’ll probably see his picture. He’s a typical Beagle, which means he loves the great outdoors. Walks, dog runs, trips to the park - these are his idea of a dog’s life. He’s so into sniffing that we’re pretty sure he’s planning to write a ‘Smell Guide to the World’. In a home environment, he’d love lots of walks, or as he likes to call them, ‘sniffaris’.
When it comes to indoor fun, Dutch is all about the frozen Kongs, snuffle mats, and treat puzzle toys. Training at home would be a fun activity for him and his new family, and we’re pretty sure he’d do anything for a treat.
We’re not sure how Dutch feels about fenced yards, but given his adventurous spirit and the Hound breed’s reputation for chasing animals and finding ways out, we recommend keeping an eye on him while he’s outside.
As for house training, we can’t say for sure since we don’t know Dutch’s backstory. But he does like to keep his kennel clean here, so we think he might have some house manners. Just remember, every new dog needs a transition time.
Dutch hasn’t been tested with other dogs yet, but we’ll be updating that information soon. So, keep checking back. And remember, adopting Dutch doesn’t just mean getting a dog - it means getting a four-legged comedian who’s sure to keep you laughing. Dutch is ready to sniff his way into your heart!
