My Story

Meet El Gigante, the biggest and friendliest giant around! This big guy is as kind and good-natured as they come! Get ready to meet a sweet boy with the tiniest ears and the biggest heart! Not only does El Gigante love people, but he's also a star player in our dog playgroup! He plays well with his canine buddies, and he makes sure to take breaks along the way. El Gigs also loves to go for an outdoor adventure - whether that means taking a long walk around the neighborhood or a romp through nature, he's here for it all! At the end of the day when it's time to rest, he's always happy to be your snuggle buddy! El Gigante is a very strong boy, so he will greatly benefit from an adopter who will continue his training in their home. He's ready to work on his leash manners with you and become his best doggy self! El Gigante would probably be a good fit for most families! El Gigante has done well with other dogs and would probably live with another dog. El Gigante is reported to be housetrained. An Admissions and Placement Specialist can give you tips to help set him up for housetraining success. Does El Gigante seem like the gentle giant of your dreams? This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.* For more information on adopting from the ASPCA, please visit www.aspca.org/adoptionsteps. **The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. Please check out our available cats and dogs above, and if one catches your eye, apply directly for him or her. An ASPCA Matchmaker will let you know if the animal you are interested in adopting is eligible for or requires an in-person meet-and-greet. Please note: Adoption applications are handled in the order they are received and submitting an adoption survey does not constitute a hold or guaranteed adoption. You can expect to receive automated emails updating you on your adoption status as our Matchmakers go through applications. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you find your match!**
