Ellie

This beautiful spotted chocolate lab mix girl is ready to find her forever family! Ellie was found as a stray living on the streets in a small town in Oklahoma. She was picked up and thrown in the city pound where her time was quickly up. She was hours from being euthanized when one of the shelter volunteers pleaded for a rescue to save her sweet life. The Good Life Rescue fell in love with her pretty face and found her a foster family. Ellie is stalky, but short and has the most gorgeous markings! She loves her humans hard, especially her foster dad. She has mastered the sit and lay down commands. She does jump, but her fosters are diligently working on ‘off’ and she’s doing much better! She does the CUTEST prance for dinner - she could easily win a tap dance contest! ? Ellie is the perfect middle-aged girl around 5 and possibly breed couch potato. She’s a bit on the lazy side, but loves her walks and doing tricks for treats. Ellie accepts other dogs after they have been properly introduced. She peacefully coexists with other adult dogs. That being said, after being the mama of countless litters, she is kind of over the puppy thing. She will humor them and play for a while, but then gives them a warning that play time is over. She would also have no problem being an only dog. Ellie is house and kennel trained. She’s not been introduced to cats and hasn’t been around young children - nothing against her, just none in her foster environment. We think she would prefer older children though as they would be calmer and respect her space a little more. She is fascinated with squirrels, rabbits, and birds. She will watch them for hours, but has not been around a lot of other animals. She loves to please and is very smart. She also likes her alone time and will often disappear into her room for a little me time! She loves rides in the pickup, going on the golf cart, and she really like’s rides on the boat! Food and belly rubs are her love language.
