Ellie Mae

If you are interested in this little lady, please read all of her profile as, let's be honest, she has her pros and cons but, overall, she's a precious gem! Ellie Mae is dainty as they come. She bounces when she runs and likes you to throw stuffy toys for her to chase. She may or may not bring them back. Ellie currently lives with dogs (all small, neutered males) and cats in her foster home but loves the lap of her humans. She is sassy, bossy & independent. She is a little shy & timid initially but quickly overcomes it. As always with any new pup, slow introductions (human and dog) are recommended. She gets along with all my dogs but will boss them around and can get scrappy with them on occassion because, well, she IS the boss. She ignores the cats for the most part. Kids - I would recommend 12 or older. Ellie has been fine with my grands (7 and 3 yo) that visit regularly; however, they are very dog savy and are never left unsupervised with ANY of my dogs. Here is the biggie: Grooming It. Is. A. Challenge. BUT it is necessary for her coat and SHE WILL REQUIRE A KNOWLEDGEABLE, PATIENT, CARING GROOMER. Period. We feel that with regular, consistent visits she will continually do better.
