MEET ELLORY As a New Hope Partner with New York Animal Care and Control we were alerted to Ellory after she ended up on the emergency placement list due to medical concerns. Surrendered by her family, she was suddenly in the noisy, overwhelming, busy Manhattan shelter without a clue as to why. She needed us and without second thought we said yes when saw her email plea come through. Ellory had severe ear infections, her skin elephant-like from years of irritation, and way thinner than she should be. We have started her on medications as well as special bathes to ease her itchy skin. She is eating whatever she wants to pack on some pounds, snoozing in the wildflowers, and enjoying the care we are providing. Ellory aka CELERY as we affectionately call her is now feeling much better and ready for her furever home! Somewhere that she’s the only dog to be spoiled properly, perhaps a yard or close to a nice park, a family that will enjoy taking life in the slow lane and savoring the beauty of now. Ellory is crate trained and enjoys naps in the sun and naps in her bed. As an older lady she would benefit from shorter walkies (15 min) or a backyard to for potty breaks and one longer 30 min walk a day.
