Name: Elsie Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier Age: 1 and 1/2 years old Background: Elsie was found wandering around Cornelius, NC and the owner did not want to reclaim her. Personality: Elsie is a wonderful dog who is always happy. She loves meeting new people and treats everyone like her new best friend. She is energetic and often gets the zoomies during walks, which is adorable! She is friendly and affectionate, hitting that perfect balance between an adventure buddy and a cuddle buddy. Her energy can be stopped simply by scratching her belly, as she's a huge sucker for affection. The moment she sees you sit down, she wants to be near or on you. It is adorable to watch how excited she gets when people approach her - she'll do little dances and throw her head up as if she can't contain her happiness. Ideal Home: Before coming to the shelter, she lived with other dogs. Here, she has tested well with another male dog but did not like the female dog. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have another pet in the home. She is house trained but would benefit from basic training due to her energy. Elsie would do great with an active home or a home with a fenced in backyard. She would make a great walking buddy! We also recommend grown children in the home, as she's a jumper. Final Thoughts: It is important to note that she is HW+ and is currently taking inexpensive antibiotics for it. However, she is always a ray of sunshine and always ready for an adventure.
