My Story

Elvis Spaghetti is a 1 year old smooth red dachshund who weighs 11 pounds. He was a stray who was hit by a car and is recovering after this resulting in a fractured pelvis. A CT shows his pelvis should heal on it's own with rest and relaxation, which can be a challenge with this busy boy! He also appears to have been eating trash while on the street before he was hit and is still passing that through his system. He seems to now be normal again and has a healthy appetite! He think both his food and your food should be his! He still needs to learn boundaries and will also try to steal human food. This wild and crazy boy will be neutered in about 6 weeks once his pelvis has healed. We will consider local adoptive homes who can return to our vet for his neuter starting in early August. He is very playful and would do well in a home with a companion or two. He would also be ok with adult/senior dogs. Elvis is mostly potty trained and will usually use a potty pad but also does miss about 20% of the time. Once he can walk outside we feel he will be better but for now he is on crate or pen rest about 75% of the time. He can climb pens, so they are as effective as they were when he first arrived. This little guy is incredibly sweet and will make a great dog if you can put in the time with his training.
