Emerald

Emerald is a very sweet catahoula who is blind. She weighs 61 lbs. Emerald learns her environment and is potty trained. She was rescued from a euthanizing shelter. Emerald is a very gentle girl. She is trusting and learning about leash walking, she doesn't pull; with time she will learn that where the leash encourages her is a safe direction. Having a blind dog is not too much different than a sighted dog. She is blind because ( an idiot ) allowed a red merle colored dog to breed with another red merle. This color variation will give you a few puppies with brilliant blue eyes but the rest of the litter will be blind or deaf or both. They then added insult to injury by breeding poor Emerald as well. ( that is what we know of her story for sure ) She is an appropriate dog for children who are kind, older people, retirees or active people, but she will never be a jogging partner. Emerald is friendly with other dogs. Emerald is up to date on her vaccines, wormed, on preventive, and has had a dental, she is microchipped. ( chip is registered for adopter for you ) The veterinarian estimates her age between 6-7 years old .
