My Story
Female, 1 year old, 42 lbs
Personality: outgoing, trustworthy, easygoing, smart, quiet, calm, goofy/funny, affectionate, energetic, eager-to-please, adventurous, playful, snuggler, gentle, patient, and loyal.
Emy had a rough start in life, but in spite of being seized from a neglect case, she is still one of the sweetest girls around. Her favorite hobby is cuddling - she loves giving hugs and might even convince you she's a cat in a dog's body because of how much she enjoys curling up on the couch (or you) for long naps.
Once Emy is rested up, this city gal likes to explore; she's curious and adventurous, and loves greeting new friends on walks. She's also easygoing on the leash and will even sit patiently at crosswalks waiting for the light to change. A tennis ball or rope toy can keep Emy occupied for hours, and she loves to exercise her mind with puzzle toys.
Emy hasn't had any recent accidents and is comfortable in her crate, either overnight or for naps during the day. She's a quick learner who already knows the word "sit" and she seems ready to learn more with a little training. Emy's looking for a home where she can get lots of love and treats - could yours fit the bill? Apply today to meet her!
If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP,Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
