Erwin is Seeking Forever or Foster home

Please read carefully! We are not adopting out of state. Erwin is a super long-legged, awkward, and goofy Cattle Dog/ Lab/ possibly Terrier mix. He is a big dog, weighing in around 70-75lbs. We don't know a whole lot about his history, but he arrived at our local shelter as a confiscate case. We guesstimate that he is between 3-4 years old. He will have been with us for a year in May. He is in need of an experienced foster or forever home. We believe that he would do best in a home without other pets as he is dog selective. Erwin has no concept of boundaries. He plays extremely rough around other dogs. On walks, he is timid and looks to his person for guidance because he isn't quite sure what to make of all the sounds and stimuli. He is cautious when he first meets new people. Erwin is crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and loves car rides. He would benefit from behavioral training. We'd love to be able to put him into a program but need a foster to take him in so he can maintain the skills that he needs. He is currently on 2 anti-anxiety meds to help him cope. We are hoping to find a foster home within 10 miles of Lincoln Park in Chicago, IL so that he can have more one-on-one time and help him gain trust. Please Read Carefully! We are a very small rescue. We are also a 100% volunteer rescue. We do require screening and verifiable references before a meet and greet and at-home visit is ever approved. Approved applicants must travel to our location in Chicago before we proceed with our in-home visit/ adoption. Due to our in-home visit requirements, we are only adopting within a set 25-mile radius or less near our location in the city of Chicago, IL. We are NOT adopting out of state due to travel and time restraints. We will ONLY consider applicants who have filled out our emailed application in full and abide by our rescue protocol. We will not arrange any meet and greets unless all references have been checked and applicants have been approved. We are not accepting or offering ANY phone inquiries.
