Frankie

Frankie has spent most of his life in a shelter. A beautiful, energetic, smart shepherd who has just had bad luck and bad placements. Now at almost five years old, he's ready for someone REAL to take a chance on him. Someone to be his hero. Someone who WANTS TO be part of the solution with these amazing dogs. Someone to give him space and time to heal from his shelter lifetime. Someone who can show him the same level of unconditional love and loyalty that he is eager to give back. Frankie gets along with well matched canines. He's great on car rides and will happily be your co-pilot on errands or long trips. He loves to splash around in water and will impress his people with agility course attempts. Frankie bonds with his people and doesn't want them out of his sight for fear it will be the last time he sees them. Still, in foster, there's been no issues with leaving him alone during the day. He's developed the habit of jumping on people for attention. With strangers he will bark and jump which is intimidating. We are currently working with a professional trainer to help curb this behavior so that he can be his best self when meeting new people. Please watch the video on this listing. It is the best representation of who Frankie is once he knows and trusts you. Frankie needs, deserves a home with someone(s) who will take it slow and give him the sense of belonging and security he craves. Frankie has gotten along with all our friendly dogs, but he does have some resource guarding issues like many dogs do. He will do best either as an only dog with the occasional play day OR with an owner who is experienced with this behavior in a multiple dog home. Please give Frankie a chance. He needs a hero.
