May 7, 2010-Happy/Sad!!! The beagles have found their new, forever family!!!!!!!
These two adorable little beagles are Gavin and Harper. This little couple is possibly the sweetest dogs that we have ever seen! They will warm your heart with their loving little faces. Gavin and Harper (probably siblings) were picked up as strays in Jones County-it's unbelievable that someone would put these 2 litte pups out to survive on their own! Gavin and Harper are approx. 2 years old and each weigh about 20 lbs.
While we're sure Gavin and Harper are siblings, they are quite different. Gavin is the snuggler-he would much rather be a little snuggle bug than do anything else. Gavin is the reassurer of Harper and I think because of this, he is the more dominant of the two. Gavin and Harper are currently living w/ 11 other dogs and are awesome with all of them, but Gavin has been known to warn someone when they are pusing him when he doesn't want to be pushed. Gavin isin't much for playing with the others, but does love to check in with Harper and the other doggies and loves to snuggle up with them to sleep. The bigger of the two, Gavin is just a little lover and is such a good boy!!
Harper is completely different than Gavin when it comes to being a snuggle bug-she does not like it at all.(she will tolerate being held and snuggled, but she is just into it at all). Harper is the biggest tail wagger that I have ever seen, she is just always happy (tho she always looks so sad:-). Harper isint' big on playing-she will usually hang on the sidelines watching but once in a while she will instigate a little play and is so sweet about it! The smaller of the two, Harper is such a little doll and is such a good girl!!
Initially when Gavin and Harper came into our care, they were attached at the hip and would get sick if they were seperated. While they are ok when apart, they play together, sleep together and they used to be kenneled together. Since that time, Gavin had a day where he wasn't very nice to Harper in their kennel and they now cannot ever be kenneled together.
As their foster mom, I am looking to place them together. I was considering seperating them if the right situation came along, but the longer I have them, the more I feel assured that they will be happiest together. Gavin and Harper's adoptive home must have a fenced in yard and it would also be best if there were no small children in the home.
Gavin and Harper are not "typical" beagles and are really very quiet, but they can break out the beagle bark once in a while. These two really are amazing dogs-the family that gets to adopt them will be the luckiest family in the world!!! .
