Gentle Ben was rescued from a shelter in south Georgia. He was listed as 16 years old and was in pitiful shape. Shortly after I got him, I found out he was only 6 years old. He was heartworm positive and had some issues with his eyes. Eventually, he gained weight, became heartworm negative, and had to have surgery on his eyes for entropian. Althought Ben is not blind, his vision is impaired. All of his surgeries are done, and Gentle Ben is ready for a home of his own. He does OK with other dogs, but he is food aggressive - no doubt due to his having to scramble for food for survival before he came to our rescue. I had a senior female when he arrived here that became his best buddy until she passed away. Ben is an awesome dog, and may take some time to adjust, but the wait is worth it.
