My Story

READ WHOLE BIO! Ginger is a 4 1/2 year old Dachshund. She was diagnosed with IVDD in December 2023. Previously she was very well cared for by her owners with yearly check ups, vaccines, and grooming. However, her owner was diagnosed with dementia and didn't understand how much work was needed to help with her condition. Ginger is undergoing therapy for her IVDD while with the rescue but we can not guarantee any improvement in her condition. She currently has very little use of her rear legs and drags them behind her. She is mostly house trained but may not always be able to hold her bladder due to her condition. We are looking for an EXPERIENCED adopter who has cared for paralyzed or IVDD dogs before. She is being fostered in Knoxville, TN and her adoption fee is $400. We can offer to help with transport to a qualified adopter.
