"Life is a song. Love is the music." Introducing Gita. Aptly named, the "Lord's Song," Gita is famous in the rescue community for ability to carry a tune. As a puppy, Gita was adopted from the shelter and her singing abilities encouraged until the original guardians decided the "trick" was no longer cute. Returned to the shelter, Gita again used her vocal abilities and her charming self to find yet another home, and was again silenced by a return trip back to the pound. What is hard for Gita to understand, is why something that was encouraged as a puppy now may be her death sentence - In steps a lovely woman whose heart was captured by Gita and who helped provide a donation to train Gita appropriate use of her singing skills. We are not sure exactly what mix our little Diva is, among the guesses; Dogue de Bordeaux, English Bulldog, Mastiff, Boxer, Am Staff ? What we do know is that Gita has the something "special" that captures the hearts of all who meet her. Gita is about 18 months old, 50 lbs, has a cute wrinkly little face and the shortest tail we have seen naturally on a pooch in a long time. She is currently making Doggie Land her home where she is fine tuning her sense of "musical" timing and will now only entertain song requests. Gita loves other dogs and is always down for a good wrestling session - confident, but submissive, Gita enjoys playing with others and cuddling in your lap. While at Doggie Land, Gita has also learned to walk nicely on a leash, sit, stay, down and all basic commands that will help her find and "keep" her forever home. We are looking for a guardian who will commit to our little songstress, give her lots of love, keep her socialized and has a heart the size of a lap for our little crooner. Adoption fee includes 2 free training sessions courtesy of Doggie Land. "When words leave off, music begins" - Gita is waiting to become a melodious part of your family.
