My Story

*****UPDATE from her foster mom****** ~"Hope is continuing to progress every day. She seems to be into a fairly good routine now and she's even started to let us know when she needs to go out with a little whimper by the front door. She even follows through and performs when we get to the lawn -- it only took one trip last night and this morning. She hurries to the elevators and jumps in happily when the doors open. She loves the mirror on the wall of the elevator and frequently puts her paws up on the railing to look at her own reflection -- I think she's a little vain! :-) Hope also LOVES Animal Planet and watches it every day (on occasion with her foster Mom). We are told Hope is fixated – literally – on all of the animals on the screen. She was playfully pawing at the T.V. the other day when ‘mom’ changed the channel. Very cute! Hope is now getting “paw-dicures” – What a spa girl! ;-)

We've taken her in the car several times and she does really well. She's very calm and even lays down in the back seat part of the time and just enjoys the ride. We recently ate outside at a small restaurant and she laid on the ground next to us. We've been getting her out in the city for frequent short walks and she is calmer on the leash with each outing. She doesn't pull very much and is not rattled by the sights and sounds of the city. She loves to peak from our balcony and just watch the world go by.

Last night we had a breakthrough as she was very frisky and invited me to play with her. She got down on her front paws with her derriere in the air and threw her head around in a little dance. Her tail was wagging wildly. She jumped from side to side taunting me to chase her! She even pounced on a t-shirt I had on the floor and gave it a little shake in her mouth and then ran to me with heaps of kisses. This was the happiest I've seen her yet! I swear she was smiling. Her personality is definitely starting to shine through.” ~

Hope is a very special, gentle, sweet and calm girl. She is 3-4 years old. She wants only to be loved and loves people. Hope would like to be an only dog. She is a people loving dog and ready to devote her heart to her new forever 'person.' She is crate-trained, housetrained and likes to ride in the car. She likes to go for walks and does very well on a leash. Hope seems to love children. She is about 55lbs. Hope has a special need because she of a hereditary condition of the pads on her feet that will need to be monitored and soaked for 5 minutes when needed to keep them soft. She is full of lots of love to share with someone special.

Hope's adoption fee is $100. If you are interested, please email [email protected] for our adoption application. Hope's adoption fee is $100.
