ADOPTED 6-26-10, thank you Valerie of Eureka, MT! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~RETURNED 4-26-10, Sadly, she's just too fightened, terrified really, of men, and the man of the house feels sorry for her. They have offered to continue to allow her to live with them until such time as a new home is found for her. It should be with a single woman, or household of women/females only. She just cannot tolerate to be around men. ************ From her current "foster" mom: India has been in our foster home about three months now. This cute, sweet, shy, black and white, puff ball girl is very affectionate, and deserves a gentle loving home where she can be cuddled a lot . Early on she was handled too rough for her personality. She prefers females. She needs TONS of positive strokes and if you polish the praise with "baby"talk she will SHINE. She likes to ride in the car, is crate trained, gets along with other dogs, if introduced slowly. She is NOT a high energy dog bouncing off the walls but does enjoy her long walks and runs outside daily. She is well behaved on a leash with no pulling so your shoulders are safe with her. This well mannered timid girl is sweet, gentle and kind, and wants to come home with you. All this wonderful, lovable puff comes in a totally NON aggressive, SOFT bundle of 40lbs. She is waiting for you to enhance each other's lives........***********************************************************In 12-15-09. Sophie was rescued from a kill shelter in Central Idaho. She is a 10-12 mo. old spayed female. She is Old English Sheepdog/Border Collie/Bearded Collie mix. She is is commonly known in that area as a Pasimerio Fuzzy. This is a highly specialized herding dog, used to work the large herds of sheep and cattle the Basque people free range acrossed Central Idaho. She was picked up as a stray at large back in June by a "good samaritan" who then dumped her at the shelter at the end of November and gave no reason other than "needs more room/time".. She is a VERY timid girl, and seems as if she's had a hard life. She's extremely shy of all new people and will do best in a home with someone quiet, without alot of coming and going, and no small children. She would also benefit from the companionship and influence of a solid, happy dog, to help her come out of her shell. I don't know what someone did to this girl, but she's scared! Had to shave off all the dreadlocks on her legs and hindend, but it'll grow back. She was really good for the grooming, scared stiff, but never tried to get away, bite or fidget. She's about 55#'s and stands around 21"s at the shoulder. We'll get this updated as we get to know her. ******************************** FOR OFFICE USE ONLY: ADOPTED 1-9-10, thank you Richman family of Rathdrum, ID! RETURNED 4-26-10 "cannot assimilate in a male dominated household/too fearful, jumpy"
