Ivan is an Ovcharka. These dogs are flock guard dogs and are very protective of the flock, the family, etc. Not to be taken lightly....he's cute as a button but he is going to be a VERY big dog (at 6 weeks old he is 18 pounds) and VERY strong. Their protection drive is very strong and they may not obey the sit/stay command if they feel there is danger. A guardian with a knowledge of the breed, or similar breeds, is a must. When well socialized, these dogs are great with other dogs and even cats but these animals must also be members of the family prior to the Ovcharka arriving. They may not take kindly to an "addition to the family". That being said, Ivan lives with other dogs (as seen in the picture) and he is extremely sweet to his guardian.
