My Story

Hi my name is Ivy. I am a Boston Terrier/Fox Terrier mix which I think is a cool combo. I lived in a puppy mill in Pennsylvania all my life producing puppies. My name there was Boston #2. On May 28, 2008, the aspca rescued me and closed down the puppy mill. I guess I was special because the whole story was on the Oprah Winfrey show. I was brought to a shelter in PA where I was spayed and then I was rescued again by Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue. I was transported five hours to Long Island where I currently live in foster care with one of their volunteers. Her name is Linda Antonelli and she gave me my name Ivy which I love and respond to. I think I'm around 3 years old and I weigh 22 lbs.

Since then Linda has taught me how to go to the bathroom outside and I learned quickly. I've adjusted to other dogs and I've learned to chew on marrow bones and toys. I also learned to play tug of war with other Boston Terriers who live in my house and I and I can even fetch a ball. I am leash trained with a harness and I love car rides. I eat a home cooked diet which I can't get enough of and it has made my fur coat beautiful. I was taken for a wellness check at Linda's vet and he gave me some worm medicine for my right eye which has soft tissue overgrowth and it's all better now.

I am a beautiful girl right now and its time I am placed in a permanent home to live in where someone will have the patience to continue teaching me what it is to be a pet. I took me some time to trust people because of the horrible conditions I lived in, but Linda taught me that people could be nice and its wonderful being loved and cared for. I now have self confidence and I'm loyal. I'd like sleeping in a bed with you and cuddling under your arm. I like sitting outside with with people or playing ball and I also like to sit on the couch watching T.V. and eating popcorn.

I f you need further information on me and would consider adopting me, please call my foster mom Linda at 631-586-7913. Thank you, Ivy
