Jasper was a stray on an Indian reservation who's lucky day came when a private rescue group scooped him up to save him from a very uncertain future. We believe he is approx. 3yrs old.
He appears to be somewhat shy of loud voices or if a hand is raised. It is important for to let him do the approaching at first not to scare him. Jasper enjoys rough housing with other dogs but won't allow himself to be pushed around.
Crating does not seem to be a problem as long as there a treats involved. Once trust has been established he comes running from wherever he is when called. He is smart and responsive. He respects authority given with love.
A home with older kids would be suitable if they are accustomed to busy dogs. He has not been tested with cats however we have been told he chases cats but will listen if corrected immediately. Jasper will be available for adoption after May 20, 2010.
