1/25/10-Jasper will be going to Protege Canine Rescue. THANK YOU PCR!!!!
This striking and gorgeous boy is Jasper. We are absolutely shocked that this boy was running free and that noone has come looking for him!
Jasper is approx. 3-4 years old and currently weighs 49 lbs. Of course, Jasper is right out of the centerfold of Dog Fancy:-), but he could also win the Mr. Congeniality title with his great personality. Jasper is a very friendly and very smart boy. Jasper knows sit and sat like a champ for our photographer (although he seems to be laughing hysterically at an inside joke that only he knows:-). We think Jasper is going to make someone a fabulous new companion!!
We do suggest you either be familiar w/ the Australian Shepard breed or do some research on them. This breed is known to be very active and have herding instincts, as well as being very intelligent dogs. Aussie's are lively dogs that require a lot of exercise and their minds need to be occupied daily. Aussie's make fantastic flyball dogs.
If you are interested in Jasper, please IMMEDIATELY contact Jen at
[email protected] or 319-480-0945.
The first step to AWF's adoption process is to fill out an Adoption Application.
To download our adoption application, please
click here. Completed applications can be sent as an attachment to
[email protected] or faxed to 319-393-0056 (M-F).
The adoption fee is on a sliding scale; $100 to $175. You decide the amount that is right for you to give. We have an all volunteer staff so your entire fee goes towards saving AWF's rescue animals. If your donation covers
medical costs, then the remainder of your donation will go towards helping save another homeless pet!
All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and tested for heartworm to ensure they are negative .
No adoptions outside of an approx. 50-mile radius of Jones County/Cedar Rapids/Iowa City/Waterloo. In some instances, we are able to make an adoption outside of the radius work (but this varies on a case by case basis and may depend on where you live). The limited radius is due to a mandatory home visit needing to be done at the adoptive home by a rescue volunteer.
Breed Disclosure: Due to the fact that most of our adoptable pets are strays, we can not guarantee their breed. We list the pet’s breed as the one that best matches the physical appearance, temperament, and personality of the animal. The pet may also be listed as a mix when it’s actually a purebred.
