Meet Macy! Macy was owner surrendered due to her mother having to live out of a car. She was no longer able to care for Macy. So, she is now safe in foster care awaiting her forever home!
Macy is a maltese mix (possible poodle, shih tzu or Lhasa) that is about 1 year old and weighs about 15 lbs. So, she looks just like a maltese but bigger. So, she would be perfect for a family who would like a smaller, non-shedding dog, but do not want a little bitty dog. We think she is a great size!
Macy is great with other dogs of all sizes and cats. She loves to play and run around! She loves everyone she meets! One of her favorite things to do is dance/stand for a treat. You can see this in the picture! She can actually balance for quite some time. She is good with kids as well. Macy is housetrained and walks well on a leash. She rides very nicely in a car and does well in a crate, even though she would rather be hanging out with her family.
Due to the environment Macy was living in, her hair was matted very badly and she had to be shaved. She still has a head of hair, but a whitish/pink body due to her shelter shave. Her hair will be long, silky, and thick when given time to grow back. Her hair was beautiful and silky before, but so matted that it had to be shaved super short. Keep in mind that Macy will need a regular grooming to keep her in the shape she should stay in. Macy is working on her housetraining and is doing well. She has had one accident in the house. But, what can you expect from a dog living in a kennel or a car! As long as she goes out regularly, she is fine and is catching on quite quickly! All in all, Macy is a complete sweetie and would make a great addition to any family!
