Maestro is a 1-2 year old 28 lbs. Tibetan Terrier-Lhasa mix. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is very playful which makes him an excellent option for the dog park or doggie day camp if there isn't a friend at home. Maestro is kid friendly. As a medium size dog he is a great option for kids of all sizes. He won't likely bowl them over nor will they injure him. He lives with cats. He was curious initially and followed them around and when one gave him a good whack after he got too frisky with his nose, he quickly decided to keep his distance. He's clearly not aggressive towards cats. His size makes him doable for an apartment and condo as well if he has sufficient exercise either at the park, daily walks or playdates with other canine friends.
Maestro was a stray at the shelter. Clearly someone had loved him at one time. He has a long, full coat that was not matted which means that someone cared for it and consistently. That's unusual to find. He will require either frequent groomings to keep up the coat or it to be cut short so as to be less maintenance. Obviously it's beautiful as it is now but perhaps not as feasible for those who don't want to brush daily and visit the groomer every couple of weeks.
Maestro is a lover boy. He is friendly and outgoing and easily can be taken everywhere. He's not had a lot of obedience training but appears to be very teachable. He wants to please and is very treat motivated, making him a prime candidate for a great pet parents who want an easily moldable dog.
