Maggie ~ ADOPTED!

My name is Maggie. I'm going to be 9 years old in August, and this is my story:

I went to my home with my mom and dad when I was a little puppy about 6 weeks old or so. My K9 dad was a purebred Lab, and my K9 mom was a Lab mix. My human family loved me a lot! I learned to like car rides and walks, and water, too! I am housetrained and because my mom didn't work, I was home with her all the time. Then things started to change...

My mommy got sick. The first time she got to come back home with me. But last April she went away and never came back. My dad has been very, very sad. He doesn't want to be in the house any more, so he has stayed away for long periods of time during the day. I have been lonely and confused because I really needed him since my mom is now gone. Did I make her go away? Did I do something wrong?

Then a few days ago, my dad took me for a ride. I was so happy to be with him! Just us! But he took me out to the farm where my K9 mom and K9 brother are. They didn't really remember me and didn't like me very much. Before I knew what was going on, my human dad got in his truck and started to leave. But, what about me???

The nice people at the farm knew I didn't belong there as an outside dog. I am a little overweight, and it is hot and I'm used to being an inside dog. So they took me for a long ride to meet another lady. I'm at her house now. Her dogs are nice to me, and she gave me a bath, and brushed me. I snuggled against her, because it reminded me of my mommy. I miss her so much!

Today the lady took me to the dogtor. He said I am healthy, but I have allergies, and I will be taking some medicine for a little while. But nothing serious, and he said I was a good girl! I hadn't eaten much in 2 days, but he gave me a treat and it tasted really good!

I have a nice place here, now, but I really want a place where there aren't so many dogs and I can just rest and live out my golden years taking short walks, riding in the car and getting loved and petted by the person who loves me. My adoption fee is only $100. I am really hoping that someone reads this and just KNOWS that I am his/her girl!
