Millie

This is Millie. She is between 1 and 2 years old. She is a Tan/White Rough coat about 11 1/2" tall and 11 lbs. Millie is housebroken, good with kids and other dogs. She has not been tested with cats. This is one of the nicest all-around dogs we have ever had in rescue.

Millie has a heart murmur that could be from the failure of a duct that did not close as it should at birth. Without further diagnostics we can't be sure. If it is this defect, there is surgery to correct it and she would go on to live a normal life. It currently causes her no concern; she runs and plays just like a normal Jack Russell. As she ages it may cause exercise intolerance and progress to congestive heart failure. If this happens there are medications that she can take to keep her comfortable. There is always the possibility of an acute fatal cardiac episode, but Millie is an absolute sweetheart and has a lot of love to give in the meantime.
