I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:4Nathan- the 1-year old Black Border Collie, who is a Sweet and Gentle Soul feeling a bit overwhelmed by the shelter environment. Timid at First: Nathan is understandably timid and overwhelmed in the shelter setting. Warming Up and Seeking Comfort: Once outdoors, he still shows some tentativeness but begins to relax. Nathan starts comes closer for some comforting pets if you sit down and give him some space and time to feel secure and comfortable. Exploring the Yard: Nathan likes to explore when he is off-leash in the yard, often looking far out in the distance, indicating his curiosity and desire to understand his surroundings. Social and Plays Politely: At the playgroup, Nathan is gentle and plays politely with the other dogs. Nathan will thrive in a home as a solo dog or with another social dog. Nathan is a tender-hearted dog looking for a loving home where he can slowly build his confidence and find joy.
