My Story

All Planned Pethood dogs and puppies are altered (spayed/neutered) and fully vetted prior to adoption. Dog breed is a best guess by the vet and/or Petfinder breed expert findings. We cannot guarantee breed, weight, age of dogs or final adult size of puppies.

Meet the N puppies. They were born in the wee hours of May 31, Memorial Day. They were also an unexpected litter. Their mom, Harmony and Langley, who is suspected to be their dad, were pulled from a local pound after they were found as strays. Harmony is guessed to be a Bassett/Australian Cattle Dog mix and Langley is a terrier mix. During her examination, Harmony was found to be Heartworm positive and started on pre-treatment antibiotics. Her foster mom noticed that she was gaining weight awfully fast and before long, little kicks could be seen coming from inside her belly. Within a few days she went into labor. She did great during delivery and did not have any problems. We have been informed by the American Heartworm Society that Heartworm Disease CANNOT be transferred from Harmony to the puppies. Believe it or not, the gray parts of their bodies were pure white when they were born. As time went on, they turned gray and "grew" spots. Harmony is a great mom and has taught the puppies the social skills needed so far. Their forever families will need to be patient, educated and consistent in order for them to grow into well-behaved and social adult dogs. They are not housebroken. Because of their suspected breeds, fenced in yards are required. Electric fences will be considered on a case by case basis.
