Nina is a special pup! Don’t let the wheels fool you, she’s a fetch maniac with a need for speed!
Nina loves to go to all the places, wineries, cafes, Home Depot, pretty much anywhere she can roll. She would be a great office dog. She likes to work out every day, a good 1.5 mile roll, or 40 minutes of fetch is pretty good. Her orange ball is her favorite possession – she has not yet figured out that she actually has 5 balls that all look the same.
Nina is a pretty easy dog, not a barker, good for baths and nail trims, good in the car, loves all the people, happy to let you sleep until 9 am. She doesn’t love it when her people leave the house, but if she gets to go for a roll before you go and has a peanut butter kong she will grudgingly accept your absence.
Nina became a Pitties and Purrs pup in the summer of 2022. Her family could no longer care for her and surrendered her to BARCS. She did not do well at BARCS and they did not feel they were able to meet her needs. Nina was pulled by the rescue just an hour before her euthanasia deadline. She has been partially paralyzed in her back legs for approximately 2 years. Several months of physical therapy helped get her into a better position in her chair and bend her legs,
regain bladder control, and partial use of her right leg! She still needs her wheels and help walking, but she continues to build muscle in her back legs.
Nina would do best in a home where she can be the only princess, but she has reluctantly accepted the company of the cats and a dog in her current foster home-it took 6 months though! She thinks dogs are okay, as long as they keep their distance or keep sniffs polite and brief. She would also prefer a home with no cats.
