My Story
Patchee
is a fun-loving, energetic young female who will play as long as you
are willing to keep throwing toys for her to fetch - and then, when
you're ready to quit, she'll curl up next to you and be quite happy to
chill. She is very much a one-person-dog,, with exceptional capacity to
focus her attention and energy on learning how to please her
person. She would be a joy to train, and may have potential for
high-energy dog sports, such as agility or frisbee.
She's about a year old, and still very much a puppy in the way she
plays and interacts with other dogs. However, she is completely potty
trained, crate trained, somewhat obedience trained, and not
destructive. She's muscular
but lean, weighing in at around 35 lbs.
Patchee gets on well with other
dogs, and loves to race around and rough-house. Although she would
probably chase a cat if it ran she is not cat aggressive, and could
learn to live safely with cats. She is curious about horses and
livestock, but behaves well around them. We had her professionally evaluated
by a Canine Search & Rescue group and she placed highly in their
tests.
She is slow to warm up with strangers, and young children. We do not
recommend her for a family with children under age 8. Although not a
bouncing-off-the-walls high energy dog, she does need plenty of
exercise and should have access to a yard. She would make a great
hiking or jogging companion.
Patchee is
being fostered in
Kennewick, Eastern WA, but we will work with an approved adopter
anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. Like all Mikey's Chance dogs, she
will come to you microchipped, up-to-date on shots, and spayed. Her
adoption fee of $225 will help offset these costs.
