My Story

~ THIS IS A COURTESY POST ~ PLZ DO NOT CONTACT MASSPAWS ~ If interested in this special dog, please contact the person or organization noted in the bio. Thank you! Meet Paula! This spunky, lovable girl has a big personality and lots of energy! Just 50 pounds, she is a 7-year-old with character. A perfect day for Paula starts with a nice walk. After stretching her legs, she is ready to tackle her to-do list, which includes snuggles, belly rubs, a good game of fetch, chasing after squirrels, and laying outside in the sunshine. In the summer, she will spend hours outdoors. While inside, she curls up in her bed for a quiet nap, dreaming of finally catching those elusive critters. Paula is very smart and highly motivated by food, which is a great recipe for learning new things. With working dog genes, Paula could excel with an experienced and confident dog owner. She has so much love to offer and will make a great companion for that special someone. Though great with her inner circle, she is skeptical of strangers. With slow greetings and time to get-to-know them, she does grow comfortable with new people. She has a blast at doggy daycare where she can play with other furry friends on neutral turf. She also plays wonderfully with her auntie’s dogs, two chihuahuas she’s known from the start. In her own yard, she’s not such a cooperative playmate with strange dogs! Continued visits to daycare, or play dates at other locations are good alternatives to put on her social calendar. It is possible she could live with an older, chilled out resident dog. No cats. Paula is being rehomed because her family now has small children which is not a good fit for a dog with food guarding and some territorial issues. Paula likes to eat in peace and values her me-time, but these are hard to do with unpredictable little ones around. She is better suited for a calm home and a family with older kids, who can give her space, or a home with one or two adults. If you are interested in having a dog that really knows what love is all about, please consider adopting Paula. Doing so will prevent her from being surrendered to a shelter where her food and territory guarding puts her at high risk. You will also be helping a family who is desperate to find a more suitable home for this sweet dog. Requirements: 1) fenced-in yard; 2) no cats; 3) must meet a resident dog; 4) no kids under 12; and 5) experienced dog owner who is a confident leader.
