My Story

PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - PEACHES BREED - Shepherd Mix SIZE - About 30 pounds AGE - 5-6 years GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Peaches is a lovely girl! She came to us recently when her owner, one of our beloved volunteers, passed away. Originally found as a stray, Peaches was a loved pet in our volunteer's home and is adjusting to being in our kennel while a new family is found for her. Peaches is likely 5-6 years old, and a mix of shepherd and something much smaller. She is a 30 pound dog at a healthy weight. Peaches loves people and loves to play! She is very focused on her toys and having someone to share them with! We would love to find her a home with a young, active adopter who can provide a secure yard and home, with lots of exercise and mental stimulation. She is a perfect size for most families! Peaches is in good health, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Peaches is not well suited to small children or very small dogs who could be upset by her enthusiasm. Our adoption process starts with your email to [email protected] or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
