'Pergie is a 1 year-old boxer/shar-pei mix. Very happy girl who loves life, people, and toys. Knows 'sit' and 'take it nice'. Housetrained - will whine when she needs to go outside. Crate trained - will willing go in the crate when 'bribed' with a treat. She's been sleeping through the night the past couple days without a single peep. Sometimes she will whine for a couple minutes after putting her in, but it doesn't last very long (lately it hasn't been a problem at all). Although she sleeps in the crate at night, she would love to sleep in bed with her person. Knows what furniture and pillows are for. Will sometimes need to go outside at some point during the night, but is getting better now that she's not tending after her puppies.
Pergie Loves her toys!! NO Cheap Plastic Toys!!! She will destroy them and potentially eat the pieces. She usually spits them out, but not all the time. Tough toys like Nylabones, hard Kongs, and ropes are fine. Behold, I am Pergie, destroyer of toys! Will somtimes fall asleep
with a stuffed toy in her mouth (yeah, she's weird that way! LOVE HER!
Loves to play fetch, but giving them up can be a bit of a game with her. We've been working on having her give the toys up by saying 'Thank you' and she's been getting much better. Loves to play tug of war.
She's been fine with our cats. Besides sniffing them, she really hasn't shown any interest. One of our cats likes to play with dogs, so she's started playing with him, but there's been nothing aggressive about the play. When the other cats hissed at her, she leaves them alone.
Pergie gets along fine with our other four dogs. She's quite submissive when playing with them, but will play rough if they let her. No problems at all with her here.
She's a good balance between independence and wanting attention. She's pretty good at entertaining herself but will also sometime want attention and want to sit on your lap. She also loves to be outside.
She doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body, she is a gentle, happy girl.
She was a great foster. If we didn't already have four dogs and were looking for another one, we would adopt her in a heartbeat'.
