Petey

Petey is an approximately 8 year old, 13 pound Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix. Petey is a quirky little dog who will entertain you with his antics. We love him and have been caring for him for years now. Petey loves to hunt lizards all day long, so having access to a fenced yard is very important to keep him happy. He is VERY active and plays hard all day then crashes at bedtime. in his life before rescue he was a major escape artist, so having a securely fenced yard is critical to keeping him home and safe. Petey does well with most other small dogs, but he can be dominant with others. We think perhaps a small female friend would be a good fit for Pete, or life as an only pet. He can be very protective and attentive to those he loves and might have trouble sharing attention. Petey is a rather typical Boster Terrier type dog who doesn't always like to be told what to do. If you are consistent, firm, yet patient and loving he will come around to your way of thinking. But trying to force him to do something is not a good idea. Just like with most dogs. He is mostly housetrained, but can lift his leg to mark where another male dog has been from time to time. Since he has been living with several other male dogs he will need a refresher in house training 101 as he adapts to a new home.
