Pine sat perfectly for our volunteer photographer Jen, very formal and serious at first. Then, as she clicked away, it happened. As he relaxed, Pine broke into a smile, the first time we'd seen him do that at the shelter. It was such a poignant moment. At 3, he still has that sweet, goofy lab energy, all legs in every direction. Still, at the same time, he seems pretty centered.
We took Pine in after his human passed away and he found himself living in her backyard 24/7. Even with all he must be feeling, Pine is a easygoing, affectionate guys.
