Precious Piper was brought to the shelter after the person who'd found her as a stray had been unable to locate her family after a week of searching. This sweet 8 year old girl had only been in the shelter for a week when she was medically alerted and only given 48 hours to find help getting out. She had developed a severe and fast-progressing upper respiratory infection, but once Real Good was alerted to her situation, we sprung into action, raising funds for her imminent hospital stay and scrambling for a foster home.
Before falling ill, Piper had been living in a crate in a hallway of the shelter, and before being brought to the shelter, we have no idea what she had to endure. Her aging body tells a very sad tale of neglect, one that deserves better than crates in concrete hallways and wandering streets.
When given time out in the play yard, she spent it soaking up lots of pets from volunteers and snacking on whatever treats she could! She did also meet a large and small dog, and did great with both! Overall, Piper showed us she just wants love and easy living.
Piper was also diagnosed with the worst Hip Dysplasia our vets have ever seen. Its likley she was born this way. But, she has learned to live with it, in a way that astounds us. She is so positive and loving. And she LOVES her walks.
Piper deserves a comfortable home to live out her senior years in, one where she can receive all the love in the world. Would you want to be that home?
