Rebound-Adopted!!

Permanent or Foster home needed!!!!! 2/11/10: Meet Rebound! He is named "Rebound", as he has a very sad story, but now he is on the "Rebound" to a new, happy life. He came into the rescue after being found by someone that saw Rebound tossed from a car window. He has some scrapes and old wounds on his face & ears that are now healing. Initially we thought Rebound was only 10-12 weeks since he was only 10 lbs., but after seeing the vet and looking at his teeth....it was discovered that Rebound is actually more like 5 months old. His growth had been stunted due to malnutrition and having worms. He has been de-wormed and has rapidly gained a few pounds..he looks so much better now. Rebound appears to be a Pit Bull Terrier mix,...not sure, as we do not have background info. on him. His size may be permanently stunted or he may quickly catch up with proper nutrition.....should be between 20-40 lbs. full grown. Despite the poor treatment Rebound had, he is a love and wags his tail as soon as he sees people. A home with kids 12 yrs. & older though is preferred, as he can nip at the little ones pants legs....still needs training/socialization. He enjoys fetching a ball and bringing it back.....he loves his rubber racquet ball and especially his rubber chicken that squeaks! he has also learned the "sit" command and seems to learn quickly, so he should learn quick with obedience training. It is unknown yet how Rebound is around other dogs, but his foster Mom will be working on finding that out soon. He seems ok with cats so far. Rebound's adoption fee is $250 and he will be neutered prior to adoption. References, a home check and vet reference will all be completed prior to adoption. (A foster home is also in need for rebound until he gets adopted, as there are small children in the foster home he is in.)
