REESE IS BEING FOSTERED IN COLORADO; ADOPTION APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED NATIONWIDE Reese is a 1 yo, small, neutered male from the Montana Operation New Beginnings dogs. At 17” and about 30 pounds he is a little dynamo. Nonstop energy, he does best with strong, clear and consistent human leadership. Reese is curious, eager to learn and eager to please. He takes correction well and then, is ready to move on to the next lesson. On many things he is a one shot learner and basic obedience is easy for him. These traits make him a good candidate for a home that will give him a job (herding, agility, search and rescue, ?). Like many of these dogs, we see in him a strange mix of puppiness and grown dog. His foster home is encouraging him to just be a puppy, have fun, and play. Reese is both a “people dog” and a “dog dog.” He has played very well with other dogs he has met and shows signs that he may one day be the top dog of his pack. In the meantime, he is learning his place in the order of things. The majority of the time Reese greets everyone like old friends, although at times he is leery of people. Very small, running children might bring out his herding instincts, but he can certainly be trained to curb this behavior and not use it with children. Reese is crate and tether trained, house trained, walks well both on and off leash, and loves to cuddled and be touched. All in all, he's ready to shine in a home that understands where he came from but won't his history be an obstacle to unlocking his potential.
