Rousseau

Rousseau (pronounced Roo-so), true to his Samoyed heritage is a very sweet dog. Everyone is greeted with his fabulous Sammy smile!

He loves lots of attention, long walks, and snuggling with people and his fur-legged friends. He is very gentle with most everyone we have met so far. He has displayed a high prey drive, so a home with cats is not for him. He is crate-trained, and well on his way to learning the ways of a home. Right now loud noised like garage doors, vacuums scare him. He has also mastered these things called “stairs”. Occasionally Rousseau will counter surf (we’re working on that), and because he is so young it is not recommended that he be trustworthy in the house (for his safety and yours).

Update from Rousseau foster home:

He is just so sweet and an absolute love! When he arrived, his coat was severely matted and had to be shaved. Now he is sporting a short do, and hopes to learn the art of being groomed and staying white like his foster brother, Perseus. Rousseau loves to run and play with other dogs (in a secure yard or run) when the opportunity presents itself. He also rides very nicely in a car

Rousseau is very motivated by food. He has quickly learned to sit for treats. I am amazed how smart he is. With a bit of training, he can and will grow to be an incredible dog.

All of our dogs are housebroken, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and crate trained (or working on it!) They are living in homes with foster families, not in a shelter or kennel.
