Approximate age/weight: Approx. 5 years old and about 40 lbs.
Energy Level: Low-Medium energy - a good walk every day would be enough excerise for this girl.
Personality: Ruby is outgoing, nurturing, loving and affectionate. She is very gentle and easy going in the home. Quiet as a mouse, so far her foster mother has not heard her bark. She is in a home with 4 other dogs and gets along fine with them. It's unknown how she is with cats but considering her gentle nature, the guess would be that she would do well with cats.
Her breed is a guess, but we have seen dogs just like her who are Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mixes. She has a little bit of a shorter and stockier build than a Border Collie, though. Isn't she so pretty? She has already stolen our hearts at Waggin' Tails!
Forever home: Ruby would fit into many situations. She is sweet and gentle with everyone. A fenced yard is not a requirement however, no new dog should ever be trusted off leash. If going to a home with no physical fence, she would have to be let outside on a leash or lead to do her business (with supervision of course) and would require at least 1 walk a day to get some excerise.
Contact: If you are interested in Ruby, you may download a pre-adoption application from our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org or email [email protected].
Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.
We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check
www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at Petco in Novi (on Novi Rd south of 12 mile) or PetSmart in Canton (the northwest corner of Ford Rd and Haggerty Rd). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.
Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
