Rudy is a little 3 lbs Chi baby (very young). Little Rudy, has a long road ahead of him... he had every parasite possible, including heartworms. Along with having 4 different types of worms, this baby was NOT eating. We are not really sure of his background; he was surrendered at a shelter. But the vet said it takes a while for these guys to loose this much weight. This baby’s little eyes started to sink back, due to loss of fat around the eyes…. That is usually the last fat to leave the body!
This baby has been dewormed, but must gain about 2-3 lbs before we can even start to address his medical issues. We could barely get enough blood from him to do a heartworm test. One of the parasites he had pretty much drained is blood, he is/was very anemic.
