Samson

Samson is a quirky and intelligent dog, who has been at PAWS for over 2.5 years in search of his forever home. Sammy has come a very long way since arriving at PAWS! He has a big personality and is incredibly intelligent, so he does best with a routine and clear expectations. He has been working diligently on training with his Pet Partner, and he is doing very well! (Samson's adopters will be equipped with a professional training package through our Good Dog Fund.) Samson has also been living in a foster home with his Pet Partner for about a year now. Due to some resource guarding (and food stealing) behaviors, Samson needs a proper home setup that doesn't allow him access to the kitchen or any people food. With the proper setup in his foster home, he is thriving! Samson loves to go on walks and walks well on leash. He loves to play with toys - his absolute favorite are his tennis balls - he'll play fetch for hours! Samson is very food- and toy- motivated, which helps with getting out his energy and also with his training. Samson is both housebroken and crate trained. He is comfortable and content in his crate while his foster is at work, and he also sleeps in his crate through the night. He is also muzzle trained, which comes in handy for bath time and vet appointments! Sam loves to play with some other dogs and loves to wrestle! Any potential doggy siblings or friends would need to match his energy and play style, otherwise they may be annoyed by him. He is also plays too rough to live with any cats.
