Seuss is a year and a half old, 35lbs mix. We give. We don't actually know what's in his DNA so our educated guess is Italian Spinone-Standard Schnauzer mix. In the 8 years of this rescue, he is one of the greatest dogs to cross our threshhold. He is kind, sweet and very generous with his love. He is not a barker, he loves to play and he gets along with everyone. There isn't a place this dog couldn't go from a nursery school to a convalescent home. He is an ideal therapy dog because he's so gentle and so kind.

Seuss came into our rescue from the shelter and we immediately realized he had 'hop to his skip' when he ran. We didn't know if he had a current or an old injury. It turned out he'd previously had an injury that required pins to be put in his leg/hip but at least one of the pins was never removed. He'll probably always have that skip but there isn't anything to be done. We like to say it adds character. His story is a mystery because someone obviously cared enough to do a costly surgery on him but somehow he ended up in the shelter.

Seuss currently lives in a home with dogs, cats and kids. He does wonderfully in the house when he has access to outside either via doggy door or being let out consistently. He is highly treat motivated and probably has been given one too many treats as it is! He's starting to edge to the porky side but his foster home has promised to ease up on the treats. He certainly gets enough exercise but obviously there's a whole lot of treats being given.

Seuss is a very special dog to this rescue. He deserves that 1 in a million home. He deserves a permanent home where he is loved, cared for and doted on. He has a long life ahead of him full of joy and excitement to experience. We are looking for that forever home that will appreciate all that Seuss is!
