Meet Smitty! He's what they call a dapple dachshund. Smitty was turned into a local humane society after the original owner passed away. The owner's son had him 4 months after that and they didn't like each other! His foster mom says "he's the sweetest foster she's ever had" and she's had a lot of them! Smitty is between 6 and 8 years old. He's neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all his shots, and totally housetrained! You may notice in several of the pictures that he has part of his right jaw removed from surgery - it was a cancerous growth and was totally removed in 2006. There's been no record of any recurrence and he is actually playing with a chew in the pictures. He's a real couch potato and loves to snuggle under the covers at night. He also loves playing with stuffed and squeaky toys. Smitty gets along with other dogs and cats and is good with kids. What a perfect little guy to snuggle up with by a fireplace or woodstove in the cold winter months! His adoption fee is $100. Are you the family for him to spend the rest of his life?
