Dogs Name: ___Snickerdoodle
History: He was acquired by me Oct 4th from another lady who does private rescue (originally pulled in Aug) who has cancer and can no longer do dog rescue. He was a pound pull.
Age: about a year
Breed(s): terrier mix
Weight: approx 10 pounds
Energy Level: *Med: fine with a walk or two per day plus playtime
Affectionate: * likes people, but not overly licky/demanding - laying at my feet now, curled up *Likes to sleep with people - I was told he does, but don't think he has gotten brave enough
People/General Playfulness: *Occasionally
Socialization: *I was told he was kind of skittish, but he curled right up in my lap on the drive home and transitioned well into my house
*Moderately socialized: cautious but not scared
Is this dog a Flight Risk?_____possibly______________________________
If not in all, then in what situations?_____I could see loud noises possibly scaring him - but he got out of the gate the first day I had him at my house and just came and found me. ______________________
House Behavior: *Known Housetrained - I wish they were all this good. I have not had a problem if I take him out on a regular basis *Crate trained - was told he was crate-trained, but I have not had to use one
*Rarely barks - most I have heard him bark is when I leave for work
Obedience: *Has none, but minds well when corrected - always a good idea *Ok on leash
Behavior with other dogs: *Indifferent - have not really seen him play yet. He seems to do fine with other dogs as long as he is not "overwhelmed"
Children exposure: Any child exposure in known history?___________y________________ Ages of childen and amount/type of exposure:_____15 and 7___________________
Reaction to children: *Unsure *Cautiously friendly He does not seem afraid, but leery might be a better word. My 7yo can pet him, feed him treats, etc, but he is not overjoyed to see him.
Dominance/Submissiveness: I have not seen any dominance issues
Reactions to strangers: *Will approach slowly or with treats/enticement for attention *Friendly: wags, generally happy for the attention
Aggression: I have not seen any aggression tendencies
Cats: Cat test: *Outside environment *Noticed cat: then ignored completely *Noticed cat: sniffed but uninterested *Noticed cat: interested/curious, but no outward signs of aggression OTHER BEHAVIORS/Known information: - he does bark when I leave, but he has never destroyed anything when I leave
He tolerates being picked up, but does not really enjoy that either. Does not seem to be a lap dog. Prefers to be near you.
Describe the dog in one good word or sentence encompassing the entire dog: Wonderful little bundle of dog!
