Sugar

Meet Sugar, a pup as sweet as her name suggests! This 9-month-old, 25lb, mixed-breed girl has a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Sugar was initially very shut down and timid, but since transitioning to foster, she’s really starting to open up and show more of her personality. She loves playing with toys, especially stuffies and chews. This dog-friendly girl has loved having a furry friend in the home to play with and help build her confidence. She loves being close to her humans and will put her paws on your shoulders for hugs and kisses, showing just how affectionate she can be. Sugar is potty trained and is able to settle well in her crate. She still has some young puppy tendencies like chewing up toys and shoes, but is easily redirected, so with a little more time and training, we think she could be a well-mannered houseguest. This eager-to-please girl is very food-motivated and catches onto basic commands very quickly. Loud noises can be a bit too much for her sometimes, so she would do best in a quieter home or one with older children. Sugar would love another dog in her forever home to help show her the ropes, but she could also flourish as a solo dog with patient adopters who give her the time she needs to come out of her shell.
