Sweet Sam

UPDATE: Sweet Sam has had his heartworm treatment and eye surgery and is now in a foster home where he can recover and be more comfortable.
Sam is about 10 months old and only 44 lbs. He should be about 50, which is still small for a Newfie. We guess that he is just a mini version. He has the temperament of a Newfie, calm, easygoing and gentle. Every now and then he gets a burst of energy and runs around but then he plops right down again. Both his eyes have ingrown eyelids and you can see in the photos that his eyes are swollen. He will have surgery next week to have that fixed. He is also heartworm positive and will be treated on Thursday and Friday for that. If you would like to adopt or foster him, please fill out an adoption application.
