Tank

Arrival story: Hi, my name is Tank and I was recently rescued from a rural shelter -- thanks to the kind volunteers at Waggin' Tails. My former owners dumped me off there because they claimed I am not potty-trained. However, my foster mom recently took me to the vet and the doctor determined I have a minor urinary infection. I am taking antibiotics currently and will be as good as new very soon!

Approximate age / weight: I'm about 1.5 years old and tip the scales at a whopping 8 pounds!

Personality: I just arrived in my foster home on Feb. 22, 2009. Although still a tad bit nervous about my new surroundings/foster home, I am doing quite well! I'm hanging out with my four foster sisters and they are great. They are all much bigger than me, but I know how to stay out of their way quite well! I especially love it when my foster mom picks me up and holds me (yeah, I'm gettin' a little bit spoiled). My foster mom also says I'm doing great with potty-training. She believes any past problems I've had in this area were most likely related to my infection (for which I'm being treated)! She thinks all I will need is a little encouragement, understanding, and structure, and I will be the best dog in the world!

Forever home: I would do well in a home without small children, due to my very small stature. Even though I like children, sometimes small children may not realize how easily I could be hurt! Because of this and being I am still a bit apprehensive and shy, I would need to live in a home with older children (12 and over). As my foster mom and I get to know each other better, she will update my profile accordingly.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175 for adult dogs. Different adoption fees apply for older dogs, small breeds and puppies - $100 for senior dogs (9 years +), $275 for small breed dogs and $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age.
Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).
