My Story

UPDATE 7/15/09

Tex is one of four lucky dogs that got chosen for another round of our P.P.A.W.S program ( Prison Puppies Are Worthy of Service). What this means is he will have one on one training with a inmate who has been professionally trained to teach obedience to the dogs that go through the program. He will learn manners, potty training, and a few cute tricks! We have had wonderful success with every dog and puppy that has praticipated in the program and expect the same with Tex. Please check back for his return back to the shelter!

Tex was surrendered to the shelter with a report that he was more than the owner could handle. This boy definitely has a high level of energy, but during his photo shoot he all of a sudden settled down and wanted to sit very close to his handler while she massaged behind his ears and rubbed his chest. This guy was kept outside all day and his "indoor" sleep was only during the winter months. This dog is simply starving for attention, affection, and a playmate of either the canine or human persuasion! Please think about opening your heart this Valentine's Day and give Tex a new home that will love him as he deserves to be loved!

Adoption Fee: $85 which includes microchipping, spay/neuter, heartworm test, shots, worming. Cash or check only -- we do not take credit cards. Staff and volunteers socialize and work with the dogs on a daily basis. Most are leash trained and kennel trained upon adoption. We have really great dogs just waiting to be your new best friend!

We need volunteers and foster homes. Please email or call us , or just simply drop by, if you are interested in volunteering or fostering. These animals would love to have you come out and take them for a walk, or just sit and pet them.

Adoption Hours:

Tuesday through Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

CLOSED ON SUNDAYS & MONDAYS

**We reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason. Our first concern is the happiness and welfare of the animal. We do what is in the best interest of the animals. **
