Foster Mom Report - February 2010
Toby is a sweet little dog who would love to be the apple of your eye. He is healthy and happy and runs up and down stairs a mile a minute. You would never know he's 11. He lives peacefully with two dogs in his foster home. Toby is pretty calm at home but may "talk" at times, especially to ask for more dinner. He walks easily on a leash and can manage 30-60 minute walks easily. He is pee-pad trained and we think Toby could learn to go outside again, if required. Toby is not destructive of the home and does not chew furniture or other items.
Toby watches the world outside his window every day. He does not bark when people go by. Toby also very good when visitors come over. He does bark when they initially arrive but otherwise remains calm. Toby's only issue seems to be some anxiety. He barks when his owner is leaving home, stopping after you leave. This may be an issue for apartment dwelling; we think a house or townhouse may be better. Toby's is persistently nervous and fussy during car travel. We think this may stop in a loving, forever home. Toby did have his first subway ride today, starting out anxiously. He did relax after 20 minutes and was completely calm on the return trip home. Yeay,Toby! Strides and breakthroughs!
Toby participated in a special event recently, where he spent 3 hours in close quarters with 14 other dogs and their handlers. He was great with everyone and a great hit with the show's host. He attracted many oooos and awwwwwws although they did not go to his head.
If you want a love bug call your own, Toby could be your guy (you'll have to earn his trust first!) No one is cuter than Toby. He needs a home where he can love and be loved and secure forever. This would allow Toby to be his best self and be the great and entertaining dog we know he can be. Toby would be a great friend to you and would love to hear from you. Please call. He wants to meet you!
