My Story

Waffle is a rescued dog from Taiwan. Please note that he is a part of our international rescue & adoption program.

Waffle

Name: Waffle
Breed: Golden Retriever and Formosan Mix to our best guess
Gender: Neutered Male
Age: 1 year old approx (as of March, 2010)
Size: Medium
Weight: 27 lbs
Coat: Medium-short
Tail: Long
Color(s): Brown and white
Temperament: Waffle would be a good addition to family with dogs. He adjusts to environment more easily with dogs in the house. Affectionate. Obedient. Very active and playful. Shy at the beginning and need one or two days to adapt to a new environment. people friendly. Get along and like to play with other dogs, sometimes play rough. Love snuggling. Not house broken yet
Medical Record: Current shots including 8-in-1 vaccines and rabies; neutered, de-wormed, 4D (heartworm, Ehrlichia canis, Lyme disease and Anaplasma phagocytophilum) tested with negative.

Waffle was rescued with another 4 dogs in January 2010 from a government run shelter in Taiwan before the day when they're being put down. He was taken to a hospital and luckily he is a healthy boy. He passed all tests and got a clean health bill. After taking vaccination and being neutered, he was under her current foster mom's care.

Waffle when he was just rescued:

Waffle has gained some weight and the scale reading on the above picture is no longer true; he is now 13 kg/27 lb.

Waffle is very active and passionate. He is very friendly to people and gets along with other dogs.

He was very shy and nervous, hiding from people when just rescued. He has improved a lot and becomes very passionate and love snuggling to people. However, he is still shy and nervous to strangers and in a new environment. He needs one or two days to adapt. Please give him some space and let him take his own pace. Once he warms up, he'll get back to his self ; affectionate, playful and snuggling. He is also very obedient and loyal to his owner.

When Waffle saw one of our volunteers at the hospital the 1st time; he's a little bit shy:

Waffle loves snuggling.
